Tubes and vials are supplied in a range of heights, diameters, wall thicknesses, bottom shapes (round or flat), rim and closure styles in capacities from a few microlitres up to 25mL. Closures can be simple stoppers, screw-tops, push-tops, snap-tops or crimp-tops.
They are available in various sizes, although 2 mL vials are more commonly used. Autosampler needle pierces through the cap during injection and withdraws the required aliquots of sample from the vials. Screw top vials (marking spot, volume 2 mL, vial O.D. × H. 12 mm × 32 mm) are used on many autosamplers with a standard opening of 4.6 mm.
